Harford County Department of Community Services Recognizes Volunteers

On Wednesday, June 19 at the McFaul Activity Center in Bel Air, the Harford County Department of Community Services’ Office on Aging honored volunteers during the annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony.

More than 120 volunteers were recognized for donating over 6,400 hours of service to the six senior activity centers and the Office on Aging in 2012. Volunteers perform various duties such as teaching classes, processing registrations, data entry, front desk reception and greeters, nutrition assistance, programming assistance, and much more. Mary Ann Lynch was specially recognized for having the highest number of hours volunteered in 2012, a total of 278 hours.

“Each of our volunteers has unique gifts to share and they greatly contribute to our centers,” stated Hendrix. “They each play an essential role in the success of our programs and activities.”
