From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
[June 12, 2013, Edgewood, MD] — Harford County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Andre Darez Jordan, 15, of 1806 Graymount Way, Edgewood, charging him as an adult with attempted 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and firearms violations in the wounding of a 15 year-old Edgewood youth.
The youth had suffered a grazing gunshot wound to his abdomen on June 10th while walking in the 1800 block of Grempler Way.
On Monday, June 10th, at 8:05 pm, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Grempler Way, for a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived to find the juvenile victim had been grazed by a bullet. He reported he was walking with some friends on Grempler Way when he saw a fight occurring between two people. The suspect, later identified by police as Jordan, is alleged to have a pulled a gun from his pocket and fired at the boy grazing his abdomen. He was treated at the scene by the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company but refused transport to the hospital.
Sheriff’s detectives arrested Jordan in the evening hours of June 11th at his home where he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Harford County Detention Center and after being seen by a Harford County District Court Commissioner, was held on $500,000 bond.
A victim of society. So sad. So eager to be an adult. And I’m have no doubt from a Christian background, deep rooted morals, values and good PARENTING. This youth has been a role model student/young citizen until now. So sad. Guess “Dad” needs to take him hunting more often? Baltimore maybe??

Tax records show his address is an absentee owner. Family must be renting the home. Does not live in the Grempler Way area..Address is for newer town homes near 152 in Edgewood. So he was in this area (where he does not live) with a gun at 15 years old, for what reason?

I taught this young man in middle school…..there was nothing that his teachers could have done to help him then – only two years ago. He ruled the roost at home….very bright, articulate, but street wise…..that is where is interests were…..so sad but not surprising.
Its a shame that today’s youth find it so easy to pull a trigger. Why can’t they just settle their differences like men and not like this? This is just another sad case…..

Stop making mortgage payments on your townhouse now. Take the money you pay on your mortgage and start banking it. It will take about two years for them to evict you. In the meantime, go find a place in a better neighborhood with better schools. You can repair your credit in a few years. Well, Jessica, in all fairness you bought right outside the gates of a military installation. That, in itself, is a bad idea in any state.
Coupled with the fact that the zones surrounding installations are usually full of crime, you are outside the chemical weapons destruction facility. That entire area, and those single family homes on the other side of the road, are all built on an old dumping / impact area. Dig far enough down and who knows what you’ll find!
Take advantage of a few policies enacted by our current president to help out “those in need” in the housing market. Take the advice of others, and get out now… Short sale, sighting crime and family hardship in the neighborhood. Cite the need to move out of the neighborhood for safety reasons, and I am sure that nobody in the immediate area will fault you for that.
