From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Jamal Nathaniel Jackson, 32, of 704 Rainbow Ct. in Edgewood has been charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, robbery, first and second degree assault, theft, and making a false statement for his role in the robbery of the Edgewood Royal Farms Store.
At 2:21pm Tuesday Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Royal Farm Store at 630 Edgewood Rd. for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival deputies were told the suspect entered the store and asked to use his debit card for cash. He then pulled a handgun from his pants and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk then gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money after which the suspect then left the store. The store manager, who was outside, observed the robbery and called 911. He observed the direction in which the suspect fled. Responding deputies quickly apprehended Jackson after a brief foot chase.
After being arrested Jackson was taken to the Harford County Detention Center to be formally charged. While there he attempted to falsely identify himself to police. Records checks by corrections officers determined Jackson was the suspect’s real name. He is being held in the Harford County Detention Center in lieu of $175,000 bond. No injuries were reported.
