Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating an apparent homicide after a man’s body was found in a home on Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood Sunday morning, at the same location deputies had been called to hours before.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way in Edgewood at approximately 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning to check on the well-being of a resident. Deputies found the home locked, but could hear a TV playing inside.
Deputies found blood on the door, and saw a person on the floor inside. After forcing entry into the home, police found the body of Robert Wesley Johns, 51, and the home in disarray. The man has not been positively identified. Preliminary evidence suggested the incident was a homicide, according to the Sheriff’s Office, but detectives have not released any further details.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Edward Hopkins, deputies had been called to the same location just after midnight Sunday for a noise complaint. However, officers on scene did not find any cause for the disturbance, and there was no indication of anything unusual taking place.
An autopsy will be conducted on Johns’ body to determine the cause and manner of his death, the Sheriff’s Office said. The investigation is ongoing.
