From the Bel Air Independence Day Committee:
The Bel Air Independence Day Committee is looking for its 2013 “Miss Bel Air Independence Day,” the official hostess for the all-day festivities in Bel Air on Thursday, July 4, 2013, beginning with the flag-raising and pancake breakfast and ending with the traditional parade and fireworks.
Miss Bel Air Independence Day 2013 will also compete at the 2013 Miss Maryland Pageant in Hagerstown, Maryland, in late June.
The winner will be chosen by interview from all eligible applicants. Applicants must be young women from Harford County at least 17 years of age, and who will not turn 25 before Dec. 30, 2013. Applicants may not ever have been married and must be without children. Applicants must be willing and able to carry off the responsibilities of “official hostess” for the events in Bel Air on July 4, and to compete for the Miss Maryland crown, including attending the official Miss Maryland Pageant Orientation on May 11, 2013, in Hagerstown, Maryland, and participating in the Miss Maryland Pageant the week of June 16, 2013.
“We were very lucky to have had two wonderful Miss Bel Air Independence Day holders for 2011 and 2012,” said Michael Blum, vice president of the committee. “Stephanie Meadowcroft from Bel Air represented us just wonderfully last year. Plus, she participated and helped with most of the events and led the parade, too!”

Get What you Want says
Why is it only females that can apply for the Miss Bel Air. I FOR ONE WANT TO GIVE EQUAL RIGHTS TO MALES. They should let males apply because the governor and every other politician wants to force their agenda down our throats. If it across the board, and fair, I want to be able to see males apply. And don’t say that it is a private company because we got same sex marriage and private companies are not allowed to discriminate. What next? Marijuana for recreational use….oh wait….they passed the preliminary bill. On a serious note….I want to congratulate all the contestants and hope the best female wins.
democratic support says
So men are not allowed to enter? We will see to that!

This community breeds hate and dissent. Consider their most famous citizen John Wilkes Booth.
Mike Welsh says
Are you a member of this community? If you are, why do you breed hate and dissent?
Because says
Nope. Moved here from another place just for the job. Never met such a bunch of entitled self righteous conservative compassionate “Christians” in my entire life. You breed it locally, I’m grateful for my upbringing and gene pool elsewhere.
Because I Said So says

You are just another overpaid self entitled Federal employee here to suck at the teat of government while proclaiming your own superiority over others.
Meanwhile, you bilk the people of money and go along to get along so you can reap the benefits of the system you so often disparage.
