From Sen. Barry Glassman:
Senator Barry Glassman, Harford County, reported a rare victory Wednesday for Harford County’s state education funding. Recent formulated results had left the Board of Education with a $4 million loss of state aid due to changes in enrollment and the fact that the County had loss less wealth than other jurisdictions.
Senator Glassman reported that an amendment on the Senate Floor was successful in restoring $2,079,000 to the local board. Although the measure is only a one year disparity grant, Glassman said “the restoration will alleviate some of the drastic cuts which still may be necessary at the local level.”
The amended Budget matter will still need to go back to the House of Delegates which failed to address the shortfalls in the Budget Bill which passed the House last week.

Glad to see some tax money coming out way. Tired of our money going to urban areas.

Too bad Barry Glassman also voted for the rest of the $38Billion O’Malley budget to get this chump change that amounts to .4 % of the School Board budget.
Chump Change.
Disappointed in the Republican Senator from District 35.

Good Ol’ Barry. He never met a bloated O’Malley budget he didn’t like. Glassman is revealed to be merely a tax collector for O’Malley’s welfare state.
It is interesting to note that O’Malley’s budget is 16% larger than that of the state of NJ, yet NJ has 33% more people and considerably more infrastructure. By voting for this budget it means he voted for all of O’Malley’s tax increases this session though he may have voted against the individual bills. It was in inexcusable vote. Harford can only expect more of the same once Barry “comes home” to be crowned as the new Harford County Executive in 2014.
Worse, 7 of Maryland’s 12 supposedly Republican Senator’s voted for this monstrosity of a budget. It’s the attack of the Republicrats! Clearly, conservatives in Maryland need someone else to represent them than their current crop of non-representative “representative” RINO’s.
Memo to Maryland’s Republicrats: time to stop settleing for the scraps from Longshank’s table!
