Genius…first off – I hope the store worker is ok…But Dollar Tree, Really? If you are going to rob someone, you stake out the Dollar Tree??? SMH…

That is awesome…thanks for that laugh 🙂

My sister lives near there and she told me today that the cops sit behind that shopping center all day long writing stop sign tickets to the local residents. OK, so all of this crime goes on right under their noses since just about every store in that center has been robbed in the last six months. Maybe the cops should sit in the parking lot?
man- up says
Then people would complain that all they do is sit in the parking lot and do nothing, while everyone moans about all the cars running the stop sign.
Common Sense says
No, just get OUT of the car and walk around, you guys can do that, right? You know, walk in stores, say hi to us owners, talk to customers.
man- up says
Haha yea cause that would have prevented it. Then you would complain that a uniformed officer was seen shopping inside the safeway on duty. Your one of those people that love bashing the police. Your the type of person that would file a complaint if they did cpr on you and saved your life, but during it cracked a rib. You would say how dare that police officer injure me while he saved me. Lol.
Becky says
Hope they get the guy before he really, really hurts someone else. Dirt bag!~
mvphkr says
This sounds like the same a-hole — obviously a drug addict — who has been robbing stores and banks around Bel Air for months. I hope the authorities catch him, or somebody shoots his worthless ass, before he hurts somebody seriously.
HYDESMANN says
It’s a shame Marylanders can’t carry guns or maybe Mr Lasley could have capped that sucka.
.
Harford Resident says
Yeah – that’s the solution to everything. Give more guns to everyone so there can be shootouts on the street and we can all kill each other.
Jaguar Judy says
Dem/Lib claptrap. When seconds count the police are only minutes away. Protect yourself. The police can’t protect you and that’s not a criticism of them from me. That is just a fact. They can’t be everywhere. Their job is to catch law breakers, not stopping people from breaking the law.
Harford Resident says
My father received the Purple heart as a result of injuries sustained during the Normandy invasion on D-Day. He told us that he was one of the lucky ones, because he saw dead bodies and body parts floating all around him as he came ashore. Given that, he had no interest in guns, hunting, target shooting, etc., etc. He used to say all these hotshot civilian gunslingers would look at things differently if they saw what he saw. That’s how we were raised – no guns in the house, and stay away from guns. That’s my frame of reference, and I don’t want to have anything to do with guns.
Brianc says
Harford Res, I really can appreciate your father as mine also has a purple heart and spent 11 months in stalag luft 4 during WWII. Interesting thing is he became a cop in the city after his return and all 4 of his sons are well versed in guns. To each his own I guess; but keep in mind one of the first things Hitler did was to disarm the german citizenry of any “real” weapons.
God Bless your dad….
Harford Resident says
And God bless your Dad as well.

And I was raised to be ready to defend myself, my family and my home regardless of the length required. Firearms are simply the most efficient and reliable tool for self defense on the market today.

One less criminal to keep in jail at tax payers expense.
HYDESMANN says
To Harford Resident. My comment was tongue-in- cheek but would you feel the same way if Mr. Lasley had been stabbed in the neck or heart and died while waiting for the police and paramedics to arrive? All I’m saying is that a law abiding citizen should have the means to defend himself when attacked.
Harford Resident says
See my reply above. I was not raised in a gun house and hence have no interest in guns, hunting etc. As such, with all due respect, there is no incentive for me to support any legislation for broader gun availability among citizens. I don’t want to be caught in the crossfire of 2 idiots when they get in a dispute over a parking spot outside the grocery store. That’s what broader gun availability, and all this concealed carry stuff will we result in.
Kharn says
Show me a state that has experienced increased levels of crime after passing a “shall issue” law.
Carrying a handgun for self defense is a fundamental civil right in Maryland, per the Woollard decision a year ago this month.
Harford Resident says
I respect your rights. But I still stand my view that I don’t want to be caught in the crossfire of 2 concealed carry idiots when they get in a dispute over a parking spot outside the grocery store. That’s why I may not protest against expanded gun availability, but I sure won’t do anything to support it either.
Brianczaw says
What makes them idiots?
Kharn says
Lets translate your statement to the 1960s: “I respect black peoples’ civil rights, but I don’t want to sit next to them on the bus or eat next to them at a lunch counter.”
Is your slogan ‘Disarmament now, disarmament tomorrow, disarmament forever’?
People fought for the 2nd Amendment says
Harford Res. needs to do some research. When TX and FL went to full carry laws for law abiding citizens , crime dropped dramatically, especially in FL. Harford, it is quite simple, these gun battles you speak of go on in States like MD where only the criminals and cops have guns. Just watch the news, it’s always punks, low lifes and criminal thugs that get into these gun battles. One thing you will never understand is that criminals do not follow the law. You can make all of the laws you want, they don’t follow them. Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the counrty with the most murders per capita. The only people withj guns in Chaicago are the criminlas and cops. A gun fight over a parking space in a good carry states is simply non existent because law abiding gun carrying citizens don’t settle parking disputes with guns. Scan the internet for stories in gun carrying states like TX, WY, MT, SD, UT, ID etc. and find me one story about two law abiding citizens settling a dispute in a gun battle. Good luck.
Luther Lingus says
Maryland now wants to obsolve the Death penality. More rights for criminals and less rights for citizens. All the more reason we need a conceal carry in Maryland. It will be the wild west soon with a revolving door prison system in Maryland.
BelairBob says
Crime did drop but not because people were packing heat. There are well published studies on this and not understanding or acknowledging them makes your statement a lie.
In comparison you are saying park benches encourage homeless so we should eliminate them. Sounds legit but totally incorrect.
Please stop spreading misinformation that gets used against those of us who are for 2nd rights and less restrictive gun laws.
Nope says
I did a paper on the death penalty in college which included research on gun carry laws. I spent an entire semester researching this topic especially with Florida’s defend your ground law where numerous tourist deaths was the catalyst for their current day laws. You are just wrong. In its most simplistic form, just look at FBI crime figures for crimes of opportunity and there is a significant drop from the year prior to legislation and the post legislation. The infamous Ron Smith always said that an armed society is a civil society. He was so right.
ALEX R says
BelAir Bob,
Please. The Dem/Libs say if we allow people to exercise their constitutional right to carry then there will be more crime because more people will have guns. So Florida does it anyway and the Dem/Libs predict terrible things because of it. The terrible things don’t happen. In fact, crime goes down noticeably. So the Dem/Libs, thinking they can’t possibly be wrong, now must search for a reason that crime went down other than the change in the law. Not finding one they say “Wait! I know! Let’s make up a reason. Because we can’t possibly be wrong.”
Bob, get your head out.
Wait, what? says
Oh boy, how many times are anti 2a’ers going to say “the streets will be full of cowboys, crossfire over parking lot disputes”
That’s hilarious.
If you don’t like firearms, perhaps you should put a sign infront of your yard proclaiming your house is unarmed.
Harford Resident says
You have a right to want guns, and I have a right to not want them. Both rights are equally valid, and I don’t need to advertise that any more than you need to advertise the fact that you have rifles (or whatever) in your home. I’m not criticizing you – I simply don’t agree with you.
ALEX R says
Except the right to HAVE guns is based in the Constitution. Maybe you have heard of that document? This isn’t about what you want or what I want.
Did Al Gore invent the Internet? says
Where do these Second Amendment haters get their “Wild west in the streets” info from? LOL
Would it be shocking for some of these people (if they didn’t know) that every state that surrounds Maryland is Shall Issue, excluding New Jersey?
Kharn says
NJ doesn’t touch MD…
Wait, what? says
Obviously, the word surround can be defined with proximity and not a state lime.
I must have been the only one that picked up on the particular comment relating to local travel, hitting up Amish country for the day, visiting Arlington, etc. etc.
fred asternine says
You can be in dirty jersey less than 20 minutes once you leave Maryland, that’s close enough for me.
Jaguar Judy says
Newtown school children shot in a state that has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country. O’Malley feels the ned to do something because, after all, he wants to be Pres someday and is building his resume. So, what’s he do? He pushes hard for repeal of the death penalty. That will show those pesky murders of children. Does his chutzpah know no limits?
KEESHA JACKSON says
Judy, You forgot to add ‘pre-meditated’ and ‘mass’ to the words ‘murderer of children’. And to answer your question, no, with O’Malley there are no limits. He is the emperor and we are his to command.
And in summary I conclude..... says
After reading all of this I have come to 5 conclusions:
1: The only people who carry guns in MD are the police and the criminals.
2: Criminals don’t follow the law, so any further gun laws are pointless (note 13 people shot in DC yesterday in a shoot-out using hand guns – so much for banning assual rifles to stop mass shootings).
3: The police are on top of the stop sign and speeding problem at the shopping center.
4: Crime rolls on at the shopping center, but at least I would feel safer on the roads around there from any driving mahem, but I might get robbed or shot.
5: MD is getting richer from the ticket revenue and the citizens and businesses are probably getting poorer from the robbers.
Wow, all is as it should be in MD!
