From Harford County Public Schools:
Roye-Williams Elementary School recently held its [Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics] STEM Outreach Night, featuring hands-on demonstration tables with activities on fingerprinting, hair analysis, germs and bacteria, interpreting nutrition labels, robotics and much more.
The event was made possible through two very important connections: Mrs. Wendy Kosik Chaney and her team of engineers from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) that brought all of the supplies for each of our stations and the Department of Defense Educational Activity Grant for funding our afterschool programs.
Col. McClinton from Aberdeen Proving Ground attended the event even though he does not have any children at Roye-Williams Elementary School. He was on-hand as extra outreach and to meet parents and see the grant money in action.
