From U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski:
U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) today issued the following statement after the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers to become Super Bowl XLVII champions:
“Three cheers for the Baltimore Ravens who have brought the Lombardi Trophy back to Baltimore! They won the AFC Championship and now they have taken the Super Bowl.
“Baltimore is a world-class city with world-class fans. We had the momentum going in and our Ravens stomped all over the 49ers! Today’s win is a fitting tribute to the career of Ray Lewis. The Ravens are flying high and I look forward to welcoming them back to Baltimore to celebrate their victory!”

I bet Senator Mikulski and Senator Cardin can’t even name more than 5 players on the team, yet they need to get their names and faces out there when good things happen. Where were they after the heart breaking loss last year to the Patriots? Please Senators, go back to sleep at your desk in Washington.

Finally something from the office of the good Senator that I can agree with. I will take issue with her another day or just about everything else. BTW, Senator, did anyone mention to you that Ray Lewis is retiring? Perhaps something for others to consider. Just a thought.

And that’s a mug we could do without, particularly before any meal.
