An Aberdeen woman was killed in a Saturday morning crash on an exit ramp along Interstate 95 in Harford County, Maryland State Police said.
According to police Yvette Allen, 35, was killed in a crash just before 8 a.m. Saturday morning. State police said Allen drove into the shoulder at the northbound exit ramp at Exit 85 in Aberdeen for unknown reasons, striking the rear of a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of the ramp.
The northbound exit was closed for approximately two and a half hours while troopers from the Bel Air and JFK barracks conducted an investigation. Personnel from the Courtesy Patrol units and the Aberdeen Fire Department assisted with detours, state police said, and the Maryland State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division also responded to the scene.
Allen is the wife of Harford County Sheriff’s Deputy First Class Chris Allen, agency spokesman Edward Hopkins said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to state police.
