From the Aberdeen Police Department:
Aberdeen, Maryland (11-8-12)- At about 8 p.m. last night officers responded to the 100 block of Holloway Lane to investigative an armed robbery.
The victim, a twenty-year-old male from the 100 block of Holloway Lane, reported that he had been near his vehicle when several black male subjects approached him. One of the males produced a black firearm and announced a robbery.
The victim became involved in a physical alteration with the subject and was able to disarm him. The other suspects became involved in the assault, the victim however was able to thwart off the attack and the suspects fled the area.
A description of the suspects was broadcast to additional patrol units. Shortly after the incident three subjects were stopped in the area of North East Road, the subjects matched the description given by the victim. Patrol officers and members of the Criminal Investigation Section arrested the three subjects after an investigation.
–Kenneth C. Gunthrop Jr., 17, of the 1300 block of Lester Morton Ct., Baltimore
–Andrew K. Nixon, 16, of the 300 block of South Drive, Aberdeen
–Kenya D. McCraney 19, of the 300 block of Steven Circle, Aberdeen
All three been charged as adults with Robbery, Attempted Armed Robbery, Use of a Handgun in Commission of a Crime and Second Degree Assault. All are being held at the Harford County Detention Center.
The victim received minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

While I am sure that law enforcement officials would say that you should just give in to the demands of an armed robber, I would like to commend the victim here. Great job! And as far as I’m concerned, if that gun would have went off and hit one of the robbers, good, so be it.
The news reporters forgot to include that not only was it a black firearm, but it had 1,0000 round assault clips, heat seeking bullets and some shoulder things that go up along barrel shrouds.

Aberdeen is a great place to raise a family, regardless of what the media says. There are just a few bad apples robbing, shooting and otherwise running wild.

I’ve crossed paths with two of those three, and stupid isn’t a bad description.
The firearm was later found to be a squirt gun……..

Thus I retort: “WTF?”
Had those persons approached the victim with sincerity and asked nicely for food, I’m sure that he would have obliged them without question.
Two: why are your kids idolizing criminal behavior and where the hell are you when your children are hungry? Please put on your big boy/girl pants and be a father/mother to your rugrats.
They’re lucky that the victim was not a mentally unstable person, otherwise once he had disarmed them, he might have blasted each one of the aggressors right in their faces.
