From Maryland State Police:
TROOPERS ENCOURAGE CITIZENS TO DISPOSE OF UNUSED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS DURING NATIONAL TAKE BACK INITIATIVE, SEPTEMBER 29, 2012
(Pikesville, MD) – Once again, the Maryland State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration are encouraging Marylanders to dispose of their unwanted prescription drugs during the National Take Back Initiative, September 29, 2012 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
In response to the rising concern about the disposal of prescription drugs, Maryland State Police barracks throughout the state will be providing collection stations for the safe disposal of these medications. This take back initiative is a great opportunity for all to safely dispose of their unused and unwanted prescription drugs and keeping them from falling into the wrong hands.
The non-medical use of prescription drugs is second only to the use of marijuana as the most commonly used drug in America. Despite the recent decrease in teen drug use, particularly marijuana, studies show an increasing number of teens are using prescription
drugs to get high. The majority of teenagers abusing prescription drugs are getting them out of their family’s medicine cabinet.
The Drug Enforcement Administration has conducted this initiative throughout the country. Citizens have turned in a record-breaking 552,161 pounds (276 tons) of unwanted or expired medications for safe and proper disposal removing over 1.5 million pounds (774 tons) of medication from circulation.

Why does the headline state Sheriff’s Office and MSP? The article refers to MSP and Havre DE Grace police. Is Sherriff Jessie Bane tryeing to take credit for this to?
FOJ Gold Club Member says
Jesse Bane is a good guy. He takes care of his people. Why is everybody picking on him?
RandomPoster1 says
If you read the article it says that there is a program at the council building run by the sheriff’s and that the state police is running one as well.
Also, jessi does take care of his people, specifically the ones that get him votes. That’s why he lets certain command team members do whatever they want.

Why does everything turn into a Bane bash-fest? Lets throw the education system into this mix too.
BLAH BLAH we wouldnt have to worry about young people abusing prescription medication had our schools educated them better about the dangers blah blah
