The Havre de Grace City Council is expected to vote Monday night on changes to the city’s zoning code to accelerate development of Mixed/Office Employment (MOE) properties.
According to the proposed ordinance, “current zoning restrictions have unwittingly prevented the orderly development of the land zoned MOE within the City, and in order to allow for orderly growth the City has determined that this portion of the City Zoning Code requires amendments.”
The proposed changed include tweaks to the permitted principal uses (such as allowing a hospital without a helipad or a bank without a drive-through window) and alterations of development standards (including pedestrian access, vehicular traffic, and open space).

Also Monday night, the city council will vote on the reappointment of Thomas Lofland to the Revitalization and Development (RAD) Loan Committee, and on approval of the Bradford Greeen Jamboree and Oktoberfest on October 20.
Before adjourning Monday night, the city council is expected to move into a closed Session to discuss an issue concerning land acquisition.
