From the Aberdeen Police Department:
An employee of the Exxon gas station located at 7 N. Philadelphia Blvd. was surprised early Thursday morning when a man entered the store and stated to the clerk “your money or your life.” The man was wearing dark clothing and covering the lower portion of his face during the robbery in an attempt to conceal his identity. The store employee was ordered to surrender monies from the register into a bag. The man fled the scene on foot.
The Aberdeen Police Department responded to the report of an armed robbery and quickly canvassed the area. Aberdeen Police identified a man fitting the suspect description and detained him. During the investigation police were able to recover an amount of money secreted on the individual’s person. The individual was identified as Keone Angelo Givens.
During the arrest Mr. Givens assaulted several members of the Aberdeen Police Department resulting in him being tased and causing property damage and minor injury to an officer involved.
Police were able to successfully recover all the cash stolen during the robbery.
Givens was charged with robbery, theft, and assault.
