The Board of Education of Harford County met for a business meeting on Monday, June 25, 2012, in the Board Room of the HCPS/A.A. Roberty Building and took the following actions or received the following presentations:

–Approval of One Time Bonus Payment from Harford County Government
-Decision on Contract Award for Unleaded Gasoline Diesel Fuel
-Decision on Contract Award for Refuse and Recycling
-Decision on C. Milton Wright High School Burner Replacement
-Decision on Manufacturer Direct Potato Products Bid
-Decision on Joppatowne High School Theatre Lighting System Upgrade Bid
-Decision on Computer Refresh Equipment
-Decision on Food Service Supplies and Paper Goods
–Ratification of Negotiated Agreement with Harford County Education Association (HCEA)
–Approved the Amended Capital, Restricted and Food Services Budget. Approved the capital funding in the amount of $14,911,610, the restricted fund in the amount of $26,464,157, and the Food Services Budget Fund in the amount of $15,147,627.
–Received a presentation on and endorsed the 2012 Educational Facilities Master Plan for submission to the state by July 1, 2012. This document is only a planning document and does not reflect the final capital project priorities that will be presented to the state in October 2012 for consideration. All capital projects have been placed on hold pending the completion of the Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan (CFMP).
–Approved the amended decision on the transfer of funds between capital projects.
–Received the Superintendent’s Report:
-Acknowledged Tony Cofrancesco on his service this past year on the Board of Education serving as the student representative to the Board and thanked him for his dedication and commitment to school system governance.
-Acknowledged Executive Director of Elementary School Performance Linda Chamberlin on her retirement after serving the students, staff, and community of Harford County for over 40 years.
-Best wished to all retirees that will be retiring as of June 30th and to welcome and congratulate all that will be joining us in July 1.
-Thank all those who were involved in planning the Education Leadership sessions that took place last week with over 300 instructional employees in attendance.
