The Aberdeen City Council will vote Monday night on adoption of the 2011-2012 Comprehensive Zoning Review, which includes the proposed upzoning of four properties to Highway Commercial and High Density Residential use.
The Department of Planning and Community Development initiated a comprehensive rezoning of all properties located in the incorporated areas of the city on November 14, 2011 and applications were accepted through December 16, 2011. The applications were forwarded to the Aberdeen Planning Commission, which reviewed the applications at their January 11, 2012 meeting and made their final recommendations on the zoning changes on February 15, 2012.

The city council is also expected to vote Monday night on adoption of the fiscal year 2012-2013 budget. The FY 2013 General Fund Budget is based on an annual real property tax rate of $0.6800 per $100 of assessed value and an annual personal property tax rate of $1.70 per $100 of assessed value. The FY 2013 Water Use Rate is proposed at a minimum charge of $14.50 for the first 3,500 gallons or less and $4.38 per each additional 1,000 gallons. The Sanitary Sewer Use Rate is proposed at a minimum charge of $17.02 for the first 3,500 gallons or less of metered water and $4.85 per each additional 1,000 gallons of metered water.
Another ordinance up for adoption Monday night would prohibit anyone other than an authorized employee of the city or a member of a Fire Department, acting under orders of their supervisor, to operate a fire hydrant unless in possession of a permit from the city.
The city council will also vote Monday night on the annexation plan for 830 Gilbert Road, LLC.
The city council will also recognize the Aberdeen High School Dance Team; Jonathan White, legal aid for Harford County Councilman Richard Slutzky; and will present a proclamation to Dr. Nancy Backus of the Aberdeen Heritage Trust in recognition of National Preservation Month.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Aberdeen City Hall.
