From the Office of the State Fire Marshal:
A joint investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in charges being brought against a fourteen year-old male juvenile for arson and illegal fireworks use.
Investigators revealed a 16’ Bass Master fishing boat located at 4343 Auer Lane in Darlington, MD was heavily damaged by fire after the fourteen year-old and an eighteen year old male accomplice were igniting illegal fireworks at approximately 10:30 this morning.
Charges are pending for the eighteen year-old. The fire damage to the boat is estimated at $2,000. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The fourteen year-old was charged with Arson 1st Degree, Malicious Burning 1st Degree and Discharge of Illegal Fireworks. He was released to his custodian pending Harford County Department of Juvenile Services actions.
