From Harford County government:
The Harford County Commission on Disabilities is currently accepting applications to fill three vacancies. Two vacancies require the applicant be a county citizen with a disability and one requires the applicant is a representative of an agency in Harford County which provides services to persons with disabilities. Citizens filling these vacancies will join 13 other volunteers who serve on the Commission.
“We’re looking for individuals who have an interest in issues affecting citizens with disabilities and who want to join us as volunteers to make our community fully accessible and to provide opportunities for all citizens to participate in community life,” said Commission Chairperson Marc Weinstein. “Commission projects range from our annual Employment Awards Luncheon and our biennial Expo for Transitioning Youth to our on-line Legislative Guide and accessible ramps program, to name a few,” added Weinstein.

The Harford County Commission on Disabilities was established in 1995 to serve as the voice of the disability community in Harford County. Members are appointed by the County Executive with the approval of the County Council.
The Harford County Department of Community services was established in 1979 via Executive Order and works daily to meet the needs of our seniors, youth, persons with disabilities and those struggling to overcome addiction. The Department works with federal, state, local and private agencies to ensure our county continues to evolve and remains dedicated to providing the best possible services for our citizens and community.
