From the Havre de Grace Police Department:
On April 23, 2012 at approximately 3:15pm, officers of the Havre de Grace Police Department responded to the Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union, located in the 1000 block of Pulaski Highway, in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Officers arrived within a minute of the call to find that the suspect, described as a white male wearing a baseball hat and hooded sweatshirt, had fled the area on foot in an unknown direction of travel. Officers immediately began a search of the area with Deputies of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office aiding in that search. Persons in the area, or seen leaving the area, that matched initial descriptions were contacted by law enforcement, but unfortunately that search yielded no results for the suspect.
Initial reports indicate that no weapon was displayed or suggested by the suspect. There is also no immediate evidence that would suggest that this incident is related to any other robbery that has occurred in the Harford County area.
This investigation is being conducted by the Havre de Grace Police Department and is still in the very early stages. As more information such as a further description or photos of the suspect become available, it will be released as soon as possible.
The Havre de Grace Police Department encourages individuals who have any information about this incident to contact the Police Department, 410-939-2121.

He was not a robber. Silly people. This is all party of the Occupy movement. Remember, they are non violent. The did not make threats or use weapons. Thank you banks for spreading the wealth.

Frank….had to laugh at your occupy joke, but being robbed is no joke. I hope the individual or individuals are caught and get an all expense paid trip to the big house. I was robbed and the cops looked at me like I was the problem. Gotta love small town cops. I know the FBI is supposed to have jurisdiction, but sometimes, pass the buck and have a small town police force handle the crime. I feel for the victims and hope that they heal/ Being robbed is no fun. It has been twenty years and I still have the same feeling as I did the night I was robbed. Oh and the robber….it was my word against his and the cops didn’t do a thing. They knew him well and that was that.

It’s a shame if that was truly what happened to you, and I’m sure things have changed over the past 20 years.
But one common thread I keep reading on here, and hearing from politicians, is “back then” or “back in the day.” I wish folks would realize that it isn’t the 1960’s or 1970’s anymore, and Harford County isn’t the innocent little farming county it once was. We straddle a major crime/drug corridor (I-95) and have roads that lead to major cities with histories of crime going way back before ours (Rt-40 to Baltimore, Rt-1 to Philadelphia, etc.) Crime isn’t just and isolated incident, and if our leaders and law enforcement continue to bury their heads in the sand and pretend it is a passing thing, then the current trend of rising robberies/crime will continue as we will be viewed as a “soft” county.

Back then banks had armed gaurds. You could not simply walk into a bank and demand money and get it without a weapon. You shoot a couple of these P.O.S’s and they wont get robbed anymore. Not pretty, yes I know you on the left deplore the gun thing. But too bad.

@Sam, I almost posted the same comment yesterday. I too remember as a kid in the ‘60s and ‘70s seeing armed guards in the banks. Apparently at some point the banks ran the numbers and decided the loss in the occasional robbery wasn’t enough to offset the salary of the guards. Obviously there is little profit in running a bank as evidenced by their scarcity. The safety of the customer is evidently his or her own concern. But never fear, if they’re like most banks around here they have the perp on their playskool quality camera so we can try to identify them from all of 17 pixels worth of picture… high quality cameras do cut into profits you know…

Still no pictures. I hear 5 different banks have been hit in Towson by a similar suspect. If you are not going to release the pictures, then please stop asking us for help finding the guy.
