An early Thursday morning fire at a vacant Joppa dwelling cause no damage, but remains under investigation by local fire officials.
The fire was reported at approximately 2:51 a.m. Thursday by the owner of a “vacant two-story masonary dwelling” on the 500 block of Sugar Hill Road in Joppa, according to a statement from the state fire marshal’s office. A total of 25 firefighters from the Joppa, Aberdeen Proving Ground, and Kingsville fire departments brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes.
No damages were found to the dwelling, according to the statement. The fire broke out on the second floor of the building, and the cause of the fire has been ruled incendiary in nature.
