Fire officials are seeking citizens’ help with an investigation into a fire which damaged an Aberdeen townhome Thursday morning.
According to a release from the state fire marshal’s office, a neighbor reported the fire at approximately 8:20 a.m. on the rear deck of a townhouse on the 5000 block of Bristle Cone Circle in Aberdeen. A total of 25 firefighters from the Abingdon, Aberdeen, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Bel Air, and Havre de Grace fire companies brought the blaze under control in about 10 minutes.
Damage to the home was estimated at $50,000, the state fire marshal’s office said, while damages to its contents were estimated at $10,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The office of the state fire marshal is asking for the local community’s help, and anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the agency’s northeast regional office at 410-836-4844.
