From Harford County Public Schools:
C. Milton Wright senior Jenna Booth makes a difficult task look as easy as Pi.
On “Pi Day,” otherwise known as March 14th, Jenna named 1000 digits of Pi in C. Milton Wright High’s 5th annual school competition; a competition she has won for the last four years. Jenna beat her competitor by an astonishing 723 digits, breaking her school record from last year of 800.
Since her freshman year, Jenna has memorized the numbers from year to year adding more digits every time. She remembers the numbers by listing them in rows of ten and memorizing those numbers as a group. It took Jenna around five to eight minutes to recite the numbers in perfect order without losing her place. She received a gift certificate to Regal Cinemas and a pie for winning the competition.

This is a good story! Way too go Jenna! You are the future and your intellectual ability certainly gives me hope.
CDEV says
Wow, memorizing digits of pi is so rigorous. I also thought it was against school system policy for schools to give away gift cards?

CDEV… that was the most rediculous comment and towards a kid no less. The school system can still give out gift cards if they were A. Purchased by the school PTA or B. the establishment donates them which is probably the case in this instance. How about just a simple congrats or “atta girl” instead of looking to stir up controversy.

For a brief moment I thought about responding to Cdev’s hate mail. But, it’s pointless Really. I understand, some times a person has to let it out and speak the truth, which you did Really. Anyway, back to the only point of this article, a smart girl who deserves kudos, not b.s. from whoever Cdev or whatever Cdev maybe.

Great memory. Who will step up to try and beat this record next year since she will have graduated?
