The Bel Air Town Commissioners will introduce a resolution Monday night authorizing the town to issue and sell a general obligation bond in an amount of up to $515,000 to PNC Bank for the purpose of providing a portion of the funds necessary for the buy property at 33-37 South Main Street.
An ethics ordinance, also to be introduced Monday night, will add new chapters to Bel Air’s Ethics Code. After the state of Maryland enacted legislation subjecting elected county and local government officials to conflict of interest standards and financial disclosure requirements that are at least equivalent to the State’s requirements for State officials and public officials.
Prior to the legislative session, the town commissioner’s will hold a public hearing regarding a fiscal year 2012 budget amendment.
The town commissioners are also expected to award a contract for the upgrade of the Town Hall heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, and bids for police dispatch console furniture and CCTV and fire alarm modifications.
Also Monday night, the town commissioners will approve reappointments to the Board of Appeals, Cultural Arts Commission, and Economic & Community Development Commission and recognize student Rebekah Riley of Southampton Middle School.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in Bel Air Town Hall.
