From Harford County government:
Dinean Verdejo, a telecommunications engineer with the Office of Information and Communication Technology, has been named Employee of the Month for January 2012. Ms. Verdejo has worked with the Office of Information and Communication Technology for five years.
Ms. Verdejo was nominated by Tim Getz, a recreation specialist from the Edgewood Recreation Center. In his nomination, Mr. Getz stated Ms. Verdejo went “above and beyond” to help restore his office’s on-line capabilities when they were needed most. Mr. Getz added, “There was a problem with the DSL connection. An outside technician attempted to fix the problem, but after two days was unsuccessful. I contacted Dinean and told her of my problem. Ms. Verdejo came to the rec center on her own time and worked for more than two hours to fix the problem.”
Commenting on the selection of Ms. Verdejo as Employee of the Month for January, County Executive David R. Craig stated, “We are proud of employees like Dinean who do so much more than what is required. “Thanks to Ms. Verdejo selfless efforts Tim Getz and the Edgewood Recreation Center regained their internet service which is vital to their operation. Working beyond her normal duties she provided invaluable service to an organization which supports our communities,” County Executive Craig remarked.
