From Harford County Government:
(Bel Air, MD) – – The first of the Harford County Department of Community Services new Speaker Series will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 7-8 p.m. at the Veronica “Roni” Chenowith Activity Center, 1707 Fallston Road in Fallston. The seminar will feature Lindsay Harrell, estate planning attorney with Hargrove Madden LLP. Ms. Harrell’s practice is focused on estate planning, including wills and trusts, estate and gift taxation, asset protection, and planning for pets.
Estate planning is the process of anticipating and arranging for the distribution/disposal of an estate, or the net worth of a person at any point in time. Estate Planning is extremely important, no matter the size of your estate. The plan allows one to ensure their property and assets will be handled correctly, while reducing taxes, court costs, and attorneys’ fees; it also provides comfort that loved ones will not be burdened with unnecessary barriers and financial confusion. If you’re in need of guidance, consider consulting an estate lawyer Elmhurst to ensure your plans are properly executed.
The Speaker Series are free and open to the public; no rsvp is necessary. Upcoming Speaker Series will be held beginning April 17 at the McFaul Activity Center in Bel Air, with Part 1 of “Special Needs Planning: Families of Children with Disabilities,” featuring Dexter Davis, Vice President at Merrill Lynch.

Barry Seltzer says
Estate Planning Seminars of the type described underscores the need for planning in advance regarding one’s estate and also serves a useful purpose; to highlight for the general public the need and importance of including ones pets in their estate planning.
Companion animal owners should be aware of the importance of including their pets in their estate plan. There are many questions raised when planning for companion animals that bear discussion and sometimes there are no easy answers.
To secure the widest distribution of this type of transformative information as possible is in our opinion praiseworthy and of value to everyone concerned with their families and their companion animals.
We hope as many people as possible will be encouraged to attend and thereafter deal with this type of planning rather than leave it to others and the courts when they no longer can.
Sincerely,
Barry Seltzer, Barrister & Solicitor
