The state fire marshal’s office is investigating a car fire which broke out in Aberdeen Tuesday morning.
The fire was reported at approximately 11:35 a.m. in the interior passenger compartment of a 2004 Acura MDX SUV parked on the 100 block of North Rogers Street in Aberdeen. Six firefighters from the Aberdeen Fire Department brought the blaze under control in about five minutes. Members of the Aberdeen Police Department also responded to the scene.
Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $10,000, according to a release from the state fire marshal’s office.
The cause of the fire was determined to be incendiary in nature, and the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state fire marshal’s office at 410-836-4844.
