The Board of Education of Harford County met in an open business meeting on Monday, January 23, 2012, in the Board Room of the HCPS/A.A. Roberty Building and took the following actions or received the following presentations:

Voted to defer the decision on the Proposed FY 2013 Operating Budget. The decision will now take place on Monday, January 30, 2012. The time of that meeting has not yet been determined but will be announced as soon as it has been confirmed. State revenues projections have been announced by the Governor and Harford County will see a total reduction in State Aid to $3,955,486. The deferred schedule will allow Board members time to thoroughly examine the budget in light of the new information released by the state.
Approved the following appointment: Dr. Keri M. Guilbault to Coordinator of Accelerated Learning Programs. Dr. Guilbault has served as a Gifted and Talented Teacher at Roye-Williams Elementary School.
– Received the Board Strategic Plan Update #4 regarding the results from the 2011 Parent Satisfaction Survey and the Student Motivation Survey.
– Received the Superintendent’s Report which included: Congratulating Ring Factory Elementary School on being selected as a Maryland Blue Ribbon School by the Maryland State Department of Education.
