The Aberdeen City Council will introduce an ordinance Monday creating a new subclass of real property in Aberdeen for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), which would be taxed at a different, lower rate than other properties in the city to serve as incentive to attract sustainable, military-related development to the city.
Also on the agenda is introduction of an ordinance applicable to the taxation of the nonprofit group Habitat for Humanity.
Aberdeen’s Director of Planning & Community Development will present a preliminary site plan for the Corner at Beards Hill and a revised final subdivision plat for Lots 4 and 5 of Beards Hill Park. Aberdeen’s Director of Finance will present the city’s year-to-date financial activities.
Monday night’s agenda also includes presentation of the Aberdeen Football Program Awards by Sanford Fisher; a proclamation in recognition of Lance Hersh; a Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation Update; and an updated on the US 40/MD 715 Road Improvement Project by David Phillips of the Maryland State Highway Administration.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Aberdeen City Hall.
