From Harford County Public Schools:
The C. Milton Wright Boys Soccer Team was awarded a National Team Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The team was one of 135 boys soccer teams nationwide awarded this honor for exemplary performance in the classroom. To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player’s GPA, then dividing by the number of players. The C. Milton holds a cumulative GPA of 3.49. A majority of the players are enrolled in more than one of the 20 Advanced Placement courses offered at C. Milton Wright High. This is getting them ready for college.
“This award shows that our players are student-athletes, with the student obligation always coming first,” said Mr. Joseph M. Davis, head coach of the boys varsity soccer team. “Winning this year’s UCBAC Championship was great, but I am most proud of this accomplishment this year.”
I Left says
Good on the team and on their coach. I always like to see coaches who emphasize the academics first.
