Santa came to town as Bel Air marked the start of the holiday season with its annual Christmas Parade and tree lighting Sunday afternoon.
The parade drew several thousand spectators on an unusually warm, windless day to view a procession which included several local high school bands, a variety of novelty acts, and classic vehicles bearing local notables. As always, the parade concluded with Santa and Mrs. Claus, followed by cookies, a bonfire, music, and the lighting of Bel Air’s Christmas Tree in Shamrock Park.
A selection of images from the parade and evening events follows.

Great to see pics of all the bands represented at today’s parade but ya forgot one, Patterson Mill
Aaron Cahall says
Yeah, sorry about that. I was taking these while also working as a parade marshal, and couldn’t get everything. If anyone has some good shots of Patterson Mill or any other entrants in the parade, let us know and we’ll get them posted!
Barb says
Thanks for your response. How do we get pics to you?
A PMHS Marching Band Parent says
Where is the picture of the Patterson Mill High School Marching Band?
Scott says
Aaron – This is Scott Walker from the Bel Air Downtown Alliance. Any chance you could send me pics directly? If so, I can make sure you are credited when we use them. Let me know. You can reach me at 443-823-1797. Thanks!
