A 16-year-old girl missing from her home in Abingdon since Monday was found safe in Aiken, S.C. early Tuesday morning, police said.
Bethany C. Eder was reported missing by her parents Monday morning following an argument with them the previous night, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. Eder’s parents found a letter from her indicating that she intended to leave their home on Valley Forge Way in Abingdon to “get a new start,” but did not indicate where she planned to go.
Eder was located in Aiken, S.C. at approximately 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, police said, and as of 6:30 a.m. was being detained by the Aiken Police Department pending release to her parents’ custody.

I think that is a matter for the family. The important thing is she was found safe and sound and returned to the family unharmed. The personal issues surrounding her leaving is for her and her family to resolve.
