From Harford County Public Schools:
Eleventh grade students in the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (HSEP) program at Joppatowne High School recently visited the Bel Air Circuit Court to observe the process of the American justice system and engage in a question/answer session with Judge Waldron.
The students are participants in the Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice strand of the HSEP program where they are gaining insight into many aspects of criminal justice and law enforcement as related to homeland security and emergency preparedness.
The program strands that are available to students in addition to the criminal justice strand are the homeland security sciences strand and the technology/geographic information systems (GIS) strand. The program is aimed at preparing students for college pathways and careers that focus on the enhancement of the safety and security of our country’s citizens.
