The state fire marshal’s office is investigating two small blazes which broke out in two different sheds over the weekend.
The first fire was reported at approximately 3:25 p.m. Saturday in a 10-foot by 14-foot shed at a home on the 1500 block of Arena Road in Street, according to the state fire marshal’s office. The fire was discovered inside the shed by the home’s owner and was brought under control in about 10 minutes by 10 firefighters from the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company.
Damage to the structure and to its contents was estimated at $1,500 each.
The second blaze broke out shortly after noon on Sunady at a shed on Grant Street in Aberdeen. The fire was discovered in a 10-foot by 12-foot shed by a property manager, and was brought under control in about one minute by four firefighters from the Aberdeen Fire Department. Damage to the structure was estimated at $1,500, while no contents were damaged, according to the fire marshal’s office.
