From Bel Air High School Girls Volleyball:
Bel Air High School was overflowing with pink on Tuesday night when the girl’s volleyball teams played Patterson Mill High School in their annual “Dig Pink” game for breast cancer awareness month. Both teams are proud to announce that they met their fundraising goal of $5,000 for the Side-Out Foundation.
Throughout the past week both schools held pre-sales of their Dig Pink T-shirts and memorial pink ribbon tributes and the proceeds from those sales were added to the total fundraising amount. At the event the teams were also successful in selling additional Dig Pink T-shirts, pink awareness bracelets, and hundreds of raffle tickets for terrific prizes including a Pandora bracelet, autographed footballs and hats from the Ravens, spa and massage certificates, and more. With the help of business sponsorships, private donations, and a pre-game fundraiser at Chili’s, the schools raised $5,000 to benefit the Side-Out Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) organization located in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
“We would like to thank all of the attendees of the event, our business sponsors, and parents for helping us to reach our goal,” said Bel Air Head Coach Tim Markland. “Tuesday night was a special night for both teams. Everyone involved did such an amazing job and the girls felt great getting into the “pink” spirit and raising money for such a good cause.”
