The suspect in a Fawn Grove, Pa. home invasion and shooting early Thursday morning fled to Harford County and remained at large that evening, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, an unknown person entered the Park Drive home of William and Connie Cooper at approximately 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Connie Cooper heard the intruder enter and alerted her husband, who struggled with the man before being shot in the upper right chest.
Police said Connie Cooper locked herself in the home office after the shooting, but the intruder forced his way into the room and demanded her car keys before fleeing in her blue Hyundai Elantra.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Pennsylvania State Police and asked to search a location in Pylesville for that vehicle in connection with the shooting, HCSO spokeswoman Monica Worrell said. The vehicle was located and was turned over to Pennsylvania State Police for transport and processing in York, Pa.
But the suspect in the shooting was not located with the vehicle, according to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Michele Davis, and remained at large as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Davis said investigators declined to say whether the suspect was still in Maryland, had returned to Pennsylvania, or fled to another area.
Worrell said the investigation was being handled by the Pennsylvania State Police, and that the Harford County department was not currently engaged in a search for the suspect.
“We are not at this time looking for anyone in northern Harford County in connection with a home invasion in Pennsylvania,” Worrell said.
William Cooper, 66, was transported to York Hospital to undergo immediate surgery, police said, and he was listed in stable condition late Thursday afternoon.
The suspect was described as a white male approx 5-feet, 4-inches tall with a thin build. Police said he was wearing a ski mask and gloves at the time of the incident.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at (717) 428-1011.

Get well soon, Mr. Cooper. You may want to consider keeping a sawed-off shotgun handy to get rid of human debris such as that which entered your home uninvited. Shoot to punk right in the belly!

Even though the crime was committed in Pennsylvania, the criminal did flee to Harford County. With such a dangerous person possibly on the loose in our area, one would hope that our local law enforcement would be on the lookout for him, before he does something similar down here.

what i dont understand is why the place the car was found cannot be released.. and why no follow up. .did they catch the guy? is it a random or personal hit? they apparently knew where to find the car. the house has a dog door, so one would assume there was a dog. But its not mentioned.

Guess that’s why it took a week to arrest the suspect in PYLESVILLE. Great work! Better to set up speed traps and collect revenue than look for a (potential) killer.

I actually know the kid who did this. The mother was a friend of ours years ago. She let this kid quit school, and then he got into drugs then went to live with his father. He was abusive to his mother, which is why she kicked him out to live with his father. The family is really messed up unfortunately, which is why we no longer associate. I just heard here from a third party just now on the 21st at 10 pm(when i heard) that Mr Cooper passed. I cannot verify that, but my thoughts and prayers are with his family. I can’t believe that someone i knew could be so brutal. It really upsets me to find this out. Mason apparently robbed an MnT bank as well the day before. If you have kids keep them in school and away from drugs.
