Bel Air, Md., October 16, 2011 — The Community Foundation of Harford County (CFHC) has been awarded a $15,000 grant from NBRS Financial Bank.
With the sizable pledge, NBRS becomes an inaugural member of the Foundation’s Founder’s Circle. The CFHC Founder’s Circle recognizes businesses, individuals and families that pledge a minimum of $15,000 over three or more years to support the mission and operations of the Community Foundation of Harford County.
John Giovanazi, NBRS senior vice president and chief lending officer, presented the initial pledge payment to the Foundation.
NBRS Financial Bank is an independent, Maryland-based community bank with a primary market area that includes Cecil and Harford counties in Maryland and Chester, Lancaster and York counties in Pennsylvania.
“Operating dollars are critical to the ability of any community organization to meet its mission and serve the community,” said Tamara W. Zavislan, executive director, Community Foundation of Harford County. “Gifts made for operations today help sustain the foundation, giving us the power to make a difference in Harford County tomorrow
and beyond.”
The Community Foundation of Harford County works with individuals, families and businesses to leave a legacy to benefit the causes they care about. Charitable gifts are used to make Harford County stronger through grant-making to local nonprofits and through scholarships. In 2011 the foundation will award more than $60,000 in grants and scholarships in Harford County. CFHC is one of 14 community foundations in Maryland and one of 700 across the country.
