From Harford Community College:
Representatives from Harford Community College (HCC) and Morgan State University (MSU) participated in a signing ceremony at Harford Community College on October 4. Dr. Dennis Golladay, President, Harford Community College, and Dr. David Wilson, President, Morgan State University signed a Memorandum of Understanding to recognize the partnership between the two institutions.
Guests at the signing ceremony included Major General Nick Justice, Senior Installation Commander, Aberdeen Proving Ground and Commanding General, U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command; Dr. Maurice Taylor, Vice President for University Operations (MSU); Dr. Eugene DeLoatch, Dean, School of Engineering (MSU); Dr. Joseph Whittaker, Dean, School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (MSU); Dr. Otis Thomas, Dean, School of Business (MSU); Dr. Craig Scott, Chair, Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering (MSU); Dr. Reginald Amory, Chair, Dept. of Civil Engineering (MSU); Dr. Yacob Astatke, Assistant Professor (MSU); Gerald Whitaker, Director, BRAC Initiative (MSU); Asuntha Chiang-Smith, MD State Governor’s Office; Dr. Jonathan Brown, Harford County Public Schools; John Haggerty, HCC Board of Trustees member; Denise Carnaggio, representing Harford County Government; Deborah Wrobel, Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (HCC); Dr. Annette Haggray, Vice President for Instruction (HCC); and Lisa Rainey, Assistant to the Vice President for Instruction (HCC).
The agreement will provide a seamless transfer opportunity for students who graduate from HCC’s associate degree program in Engineering. Students may continue their studies on Harford’s campus and complete a baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering through Morgan, making it easier than ever for local residents to complete a four-year degree. The agreement confirmed the acceptance of transfer credits from Harford Community College to Morgan’s Electrical Engineering program.
