An unattended camper’s lamp caused an accidental blaze at a mobile home in Perryman Saturday night, fire officials said.
The fire was discovered by a passerby in the living room of the home on the 400 block of Keene Drive in Perryman at approximately 9 p.m., according to the state fire marshal’s office. A total of 40 firefighters from the Aberdeen, Abingdon, and Aberdeen Proving Ground fire companies brought the blaze under control in about 10 minutes.
Damage to the structure was estimated at $5,000, and damages to its contents were estimated at $3,000, the state fire marshal’s office said.
