SPRING 2012 WHITE HOUSE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM LOOKING FOR INTERNS
In an email from Susan Charles, Office Manager, San Mateo County Central Labor Council:
Good afternoon,
You may want to send this to folks who may be interested. We are looking for good folks.
The application deadline for the Spring 2012 White House Internship Program is Sunday, September 11.
With less than a month left to apply for the Spring 2012 session, please take the time to think of five future young leaders you believe would serve as great White House Interns, and personally encourage them to apply. As you know, a White House Internship provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office of the President and prepare them for future public service involvement.
As you recommend individuals for the program, please keep the following in mind:
To be eligible for the program, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, and either enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college, community college, or university or must have graduated in the past two years. Candidates may otherwise be veterans of the United States Armed Forces, holding a high school diploma or its equivalent, and having served on active duty anytime over the past two years.
Candidates must apply through the website, http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/internships/apply.
A complete submission includes the White House Internship application (short answers, two essay questions, and a one-page resume) as well as three letters of recommendation.
Thank you again for your time and feel free to reach out to our office at 202-456-5979 with any questions.
Sincerely,
The White House Internship Team
