Flash Flood Watch in effect from this evening through Tuesday Evening,
The NWS has issued a Flash flood watch for central and southern Maryland, and Baltimore metropolitan areas. From this evening through Tuesday evening.
Tropical moisture associated with the remnants of tropical depression LEE will interact with a slow moving cold front to produce widespread showers across the area. Rrainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches can be expected, With Isolated higher totals. With the ground currently saturated and creeks and streams running high due to last weeks rainfall from Irene, Flash flooding may result. Very heavy rain may cause rapid rises in creeks and streams, As well as significant ponding in urban areas. Do not drive through roadways covered with water. Precautionary/preparedness actions,
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
As part of the I-95/MD Rt 24 Improvement Project the new MD RT. 24 bridge over MD Rt 924 is scheduled to open within the next few weeks. Once the new bridge is open, motorist using MD Rt 24 from I-95 to Bel Air will travel the bridge and by-pass the traffic signal at MD Rt 924. As work continues and lane changes occur to facilitate the opening of new ramps at I-95, the State Highway Administration urges caution when driving through this area.
Caution driving through that area! That surely is true. Going to BJ’s last week was a challenge. Finally got there. Please hurry road builders. Open that road. Open Wegman’s. And we call this progress!!!!
