From Jim Richardson, Director of the Harford County Office of Economic Development:
Dear Harford County Business Owner:
Good Afternoon. We are very concerned with the number of businesses that are still without electricity in Harford County. We know that large portions of the Greater Edgewood area are not up and running. We would like to hear back from you if you are still without power for your business. The County has been in touch with BGE and we know that they are working on their plan to restore service; however, I want to be able to pass your information through to the County Executive to his contacts at the utility.
Please reply to me if you currently do not have electricity to your office or plant. We will get this information out to BGE and see if they can expedite bringing our businesses back on line.
Thank you,
Jim Richardson, Director
Harford County Office of Economic Development

Jim: A Better Answer is happy to report that our full power was restored about 5:30p Monday. However, ABA was able to operate. We are backed with 2 UPS systems and a 15KVA Generac generator. We installed the UPS backup when we computerized in 1986 and put in the Generac when Y2K approached. Best investment we made in the business. Thanks for asking for input from the business community. Hopefully it won’t be weeks of outages, but it has only been a few days.
