An attempted armed robbery in south Bel Air Saturday night led to an incident a short distance away in which a gas station clerk was shot, according to police.
The series of events began at approximately 10:50 p.m. when a light-skinned black male of average build entered the High’s Dairy Store near the Festival shopping center on Bel Air South Parkway armed with a handgun, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. A cashier hit an alarm in the store, causing the suspect to flee in the direction of state Route 24.
A short time later, a shooting was reported at about 11:10 p.m. at the Exxon gas station on Route 24 and MacPhail Road in Bel Air. One victim was air-lifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, but their condition was not immediately known.
Bel Air police and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate both incidents. Check back with The Dagger for more on this developing story.
In case you haven’t heard, Walmart already OWNS the property at Plumtree and 924. They will be building shortly. Plans for the new store are already drawn up. Harford County P&Z says they know nothing!!?? How can they know nothing if the property is already owned by Walmart, Inc??? It is ad that this can happen, but it is happening.

Hopefully this time next year, us non-criminal types will be able to exercise our civil rights to defend life, and in the process turn the tables on thugs like this.
