From the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office:
Anthony Eugene Robinson, a 46 yr old from Jarrettsville, was sentenced today in Harford County Circuit Court to two consecutive life sentences plus an additional 25 consecutive years without parole by Judge Emory A. Plitt Jr. The victim gave an emotional victim impact statement, stating, “I still have nightmares to this day….but within the last few weeks I have come to realize how strong a person I am. I hope he (Mr. Robinson) rots in jail for the rest of his life.”
In the early morning hours of July 11, 2010, the victim was abducted from a 7-11 store in Aberdeen, taken to another location and violently sexually assaulted. Mr. Robinson was a registered sex offender at the time of the offenses and was apprehended several days later.
Robinson was indicted for first degree rape, kidnapping and numerous other sexual offenses and the case was tried before a jury. The trial lasted a week and the jury returned guilty verdicts on April 15, 2011 to two third degree sex offenses counts and the count of kidnapping. Due to Mr. Robinson’s previous convictions for rape and robbery, the State filed for enhanced penalties and mandatory time for a crime of violence. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney, Lisa Hyle Marts.
