Aberdeen police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a female Aberdeen area elementary school student who was waiting alone at a bus stop Friday morning.
Police said the unidentified man approached the girl at approximately 8:10 a.m. at the intersection of Post and Wood Road in Aberdeen. The student was waiting alone at a bus stop when the man came up from behind her and grabbed her buttocks area before fleeing on foot.
Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department responded to the scene and continued to surveil the area during the remainder of the morning, but were unable to apprehend the suspect.
The suspect has been described as a pale-skinned, white male with balding, brown hair. He is estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old, 6-feet, 2-inches tall, and 300 pounds.
“Patrol has been increased in the community since [the incident],” according to Det. Will Reiber of the Aberdeen Police Department, but police are “encouraging the notification of law enforcement…of any suspicious individuals” noticed by those in the neighborhood.
While the assault occurred in a location that was “visible to the community,” Reiber also “recommends that parents be extra vigilant” of their children for the remainder of the school year. Appropriate precautions may include walking younger children to school or their designated bus stop.

I hope they catch that pervert. If that was my daughter, the guy would definitely be better off being caught by the police!

That’s about halfway between Halls Cross Roads ES and Roye Williams ES. Since it’s on the north side of Rt 22, I’d guess Roye Williams ES.
I don’t think that is how The Dagger meant for the title of the article to sound like. It is saying that an elementary school aged child who attends a school in Aberdeen was sexually assaulted. That is how I thought it was meant anyway.

John Paff, it’s about 2 or 3 blocks away from the 2009 incident. I was thinking the same thing. I hope they catch this guy. I walk my daughter to school and back every day even though I only live less than 2/10 of a mile from the school. There are a lot of parents walking around and driving the kids. I hope this guy realizes that there will be a lot of eyes out there looking for him.

I am a mother who lived in this neighboorhood and have a child who attends elementary school. this is very disterbing to think there is a chomo around here. I always take my kids to the bus stop in the mornings and wait there till there on the bus and the bus is pulling off. i never did understand how parents couls let there child walk alone. oh and they go to halls cross roads elem.
