From the Havre de Grace Police Department:
On May 3, 2011 at approximately 8:22 p.m., officers were flagged down near the intersection of S. Juniata Street and Revolution Street by a motorist that stated that they were being shot at by a vehicle behind them. The officer then observed the suspect vehicle turn onto the 500 block of S. Juniata Street from Revolution Street at a high rate of speed. Immediately the officer activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
The suspects’ vehicle, a white in color four door sedan, began to accelerate, disregarding traffic signals and signs. The vehicle then abruptly came to a stop in the area of South Adams Street and Lewis Street. The pursuing officer then observed approximately three subjects exit the vehicle and run in different directions. On subject that fled was caught moments later and another was located still inside the vehicle. Both subjects were detained and identified as male juveniles, ranging in ages 16 and 17 years old.
Havre de Grace Police Officers quickly responded to area, including a K-9 officer to assist the first officer. A rigorous search was conducted in the area to locate the two remaining subjects, but yielded no results.
It was learned that the incident began in the area of Seneca Avenue, between Deaver and Revolution Streets, suspected to be initiated by a physical confrontation. Officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate any physical evidence that would substantiate the victims statements.
Detectives and Officers of the Havre de Grace Police Department are continuing to investigate this incident. Both juvenile subjects that were detained were released without charges due to lack of physical evidence at this time. No weapons or evidence of use of weapons has been located as of 3:30pm on May 4, 2011.
