A handful of firefighters from several local companies responded to a small blaze which broke out on the front porch of a Whiteford home Tuesday afternoon, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The fire was reported just before 3:30 p.m. at a home on the 1600 block of Main Street in Whiteford when a neighbor discovered the blaze on the home’s front porch. Six firefighters from the Darlington, Whiteford, Fawn Grove, Pa. and Delta-Cardiff, Pa. fire companies responded, but found that the fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival.
The cost of damage to the home is estimated at $5,000. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact the State Fire Marshal’s Bel Air office at 410-836-4844.
