Harford School Board Approves Revised FY12 Budget in 4 to 3 Vote; Amendments Include Removal of $15.3 Million in Salary Increases for All Employees; Wage Package Expected to be Renegotiated

The Board of Education of Harford County met in an open business meeting on Monday, April 11, 2011, in the Board Room of the HCPS/A.A. Roberty Building and took the following actions:

– Approved the Revised FY 2012 HCPS Operating Budget to bring the HCPS budget in line with the County Executive’s allocation, which caused a $23.5 million shortfall, in the amount of $427,016,845 and the amended Capital Budget of $14,816,845. The amounts for the other funds are Restricted Funds of $25,950,849 and Food Service Fund of $14,930,553.
