The Harford County Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday night clarifying the amount and schedule of paid military leave employees are eligible to receive in a fiscal year.
The bill, as proposed, would provide “members of the National Guard or military reserves who are required to engage in regular/annual training exercises will be granted military leave, with pay, for a period not to exceed a total of three weeks in a federal fiscal year.” Currently, paid military leave is granted on a calendar year basis.
Also Tuesday night, the county council is expected to approve a budget transfer for Harford Community College, approve executive appointments to the Commission on Disabilities, Economic Development Agricultural Advisory Board, and Planning Advisory Board; and recognize a Harford Living Treasure.
