The Aberdeen City Council will hold public hearings Monday night on a pair a charter amendment resolutions which would annex nearly 100 acres into the city in two locations – a residential development on Hiob Lane and a new technology park on Route 22.
The Chapel Estates-Hiob Lane proposal includes a total acreage of 70.55 acres, which would be annexed into Aberdeen in the Medium Density Residential (R-2) zoning district. Owners of the properties to be annexed include Marti, LLC; Deuce, LLC; Bosworth LLC; 400 Hiob Lane LLC; Winston Oscar Gasu; Regina Davis and Bruce Laughinghouse; and Donald Cullum, Marcia A George-Cullum, Robert J. George and Bessie A. George.
The Aberdeen Technology Park proposal includes a total acreage of 28.848 acres, which would be annexed into Aberdeen in the Integrated Business District (IBD). Owners of the property to be annexed include Aberdeen Technology Campus, LLC, and the individual owners of certain lots including Herman D. Moxley & Christine S. Moxley, Stephen Bilka & Betty Bilka, Dennis Wilder & Laura Wilder, and Raymond H. Hysell & May M Hysell.
Also Monday night, the mayor and city council will reconsider changes to the city’s schedule of fees and charges; introduce a resolution regarding an Inner County Outreach Project; and recognize the Aberdeen High School Girls Basketball Team.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Aberdeen City Hall.
