Good Cause Foundation of Havre de Grace Launches “Mulch with a Mission” Fundraiser

The Good Cause Foundation of Havre de Grace is busy at work rallying people and resources around good causes. They held their first annual “Thirty One Bags” Bingo in February, which was a big success. Again, many thanks to the American Legion, Americorps Volunteers, and all the local businesses and community members who donated time and money!

Riding on the success of their initiatives which have provided desperately needed resources to over 300 families, children, and single mothers since opening their doors in August 2010, the Good Cause Foundation is gearing up for their Mothers Day event. They are partnering with service providers in the community for a day to celebrate 100 single mothers at their building in Havre de Grace. They are also in preparation to kick off their abuse recovery program, and a cutting edge summer camp targeting middle school children.

To fund all of these programs the Good Cause Foundation is hard at work on their next fundraiser, Mulch with a Mission. Community and Americorps volunteers have donated the last two Saturdays to deliver sale flyers to almost 9,000 residences in Bel Air, Churchville and Havre de Grace. They are selling bags of mulch that volunteers will deliver for free to your driveway. A portion of the cost from every bag is a tax deduction, and the proceeds from every bag sold will go directly into their initiates. Visit the website www.mulchwithamission.org for more information. If you would like to partner with the Good Cause Foundation, you have many options including putting in an order of mulch, volunteering on April 2nd for the mulch delivery day, attending their monthly Coffee with a Cause coffee house on March 19th, or offering your time or resources to any of their other community initiatives. There is room for everyone in their mission to effect change for the good of Harford & Cecil Counties!
